Overview

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s leading conservation organization, seeks an Seafood Engagement intern in Washington, DC. Interested candidates should have communications and project management/ event planning experience with an interest in seafood sustainability and food supply chains. By working alongside members of the Seafood Engagement team to develop seafood communications materials and plan seafood sustainability events, you will gain valuable experience in project development/management, messaging sustainability topics for diverse audiences, and corporate sustainability efforts. You will also gain valuable insight into NGO communities and corporate partnerships that facilitate WWF’s mission to build a future where human needs are met in harmony with nature.

 

Responsibilities

Internship Description: Key responsibilities will include developing internal and external communication materials (newsletters, website content development, blog posts, brochures) and assisting with the planning of seafood sustainability events.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Maximum 35 hours per week
  • Bachelor’s degree in progress; graduate degree in progress a plus
  • Education background in communications, marketing, sustainability management, or related field.
  • Interest in conservation; interest and/or experience with seafood sustainability or food supply chains a plus
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Power Point
  • Excellent research skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Organized and self-motivated
