  • Overview

    The Social Media Specialist will help WWF build and deepen relationships with our various constituents through the development and implementation of a strategy for two-way dialogue across our social media platforms. In addition, this role will be tasked with analytics for the larger editorial team at WWF, including managing and setting benchmarks for web, video, and social media metrics.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitors and engages on social media daily, looking for opportunities to connect with key audiences.
    • Works with the Online Marketing team to nurture leads, develops and implements strategies for ongoing engagement on Facebook Fundraisers, and provides support for critical fundraising campaigns.
    • Develops and tracks towards social media, web, and video goals. Analyzes both day-to-day success and campaign-based results. Provides feedback and next steps to continuously improve key performance indicators.
    • Works with colleagues on various program teams to keep external messaging up-to-date for programmatic goals. 
    • Quickly identifies digital conversations and trends that WWF could join, engaging new and existing audiences in creative ways.
    • Provides social listening support to the Media and External Affairs team, analyzing digital conversations and developing strategies and next steps for action.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

     

    • 6 years’ experience in digital engagement with a focus on social media or a bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in the field.
    • Proven track record of success in launching new initiatives, advancing testing ideas and achieving new revenue goals.
    • Deep understanding of social media platforms and strategy.
    • Strong analytical skills, including experience in social media and web analysis and a working knowledge of Excel.
    • Ability to effectively multi-task; establish priorities; and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must understand the importance of both marketing and communications and the ways in which they work together.
    • Must have an entrepreneurial approach to testing innovative ideas.
