IN-19078- Private Sector Engagement Intern

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organization, seeks a Private Sector Engagement intern.

Internship Description: 

Assists the Private Sector Engagement (PSE) team in the development and management of

partnerships to advance WWF’s conservation mission and maximize revenue. Supports the

implementation of transformational business practice engagements and strategic philanthropic

initiatives.

Specific responsibility will include:

• Supports team members through research, develop of materials, analyses, reports, presentations, coordination and administrative tasks contribute to the successful management of existing corporate partnerships and the addition of new relationships.
• Coordinates with other members of various WWF teams domestically and internationally. Develops and maintains relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating advanced influence management skills
• ​Attends calls and meetings with WWF staff, stakeholders and corporate partners, summarizing key points and action items in collaboration with Supervisor. Participates in the development of key materials including PowerPoints, meeting minutes, talking points, partnership activity summaries, and more. Updates the team on industry best practices and current relevant partnerships in the marketplace.
• Supports team members through coordination and administrative tasks that contribute to the successful management of existing corporate partnerships and the addition of new relationships.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current or recent graduate student, available to work full-time (35 hours per week)
• Bachelors degree (or equivalent work experience) is required, with advanced degree in a relevant field such as business administration, environmental science, sustainable development, or sustainable supply chain is preferred
• 2-5 years work experience in corporate sustainability, account management, or related field
• Previous work in corporate sustainability is desired; Private sector experience preferred
• Skills in Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Word are obligatory; other programs (e.g. GIS, Microsoft Access, reference management software) and/or programming experience is helpful;
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of foreign languages (e.g. Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, or Chinese) is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editing and proofreading
• Strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor and strong representational and diplomatic engagement experience required
• Self-starter, takes initiative, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, commit and complete concrete tasks and deliverables in a timely manner, while working both independently and within a group.

Washington, DC

Intern will report to director based in Portland, OR, but will work closely with Washington DC-based staff.
