World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks an Associate Specialist, Web Design & Technology.


Major Function

Supports management of WWF’s website, mobile apps, and supplemental websites to educate the general public and niche audiences about WWF’s work, increase engagement and action, and raise unrestricted funds for the organization. Handles internal requests, develops new web pages and updates, uses web analytics to inform content and design decisions, provides quality assurance reviews, and manages domains.


  • Monitor and handle all website production requests, including building and editing webpages, providing updates to internal clients on request status and expected delivery dates.
  • Work collaboratively with staff from all parts of the organization to determine and meet the web communication needs of WWF.
  • Use analytics to assess impact of web content and design and to plan future work.
  • Work with team to develop interactive components using JavaScript, SVGs, and other tools.
  • Review and test digital experiences on multiple browsers, devices, and screen sizes.
  • Support supplemental websites through domain management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience/specialized training) and 2 years of website design and development experience required.
  • Fluent in HTML and CSS with knowledge of JavaScript.
  • Basic understanding of and experience with Google Analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience working with clients and translating technical language for non-technical colleagues.
  • Experience working on small teams and comfort working in an open and collaborative team environment.
  • Experience following development processes, working collaboratively with team members to launch quality online content, and meet project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated strong desire to learn and willingness to ask questions.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve a problem or implement a new design/feature including research, group review, and testing.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems and the ability to learn and adapt to various other systems.
  • Familiarity with responsive design, web site usability, browser compatibility issues, web design and development best practices and latest trends.
  • Experience troubleshooting and quality assurance testing websites.
  • Experience creating a webpage from a wireframe while following established design patterns.
  • Experience with domain management and DNS settings.
  • Familiarity with design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite or Figma.
