Major Function
World Wildlife Fund (WWF-US), one of the world’s leading environment organizations, seeks a Senior Program Administrator (SPA) for its Green Climate Fund (GCF) Accredited Entity (AE) team. The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is the world’s largest dedicated fund helping developing countries reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and enhance their ability to respond to climate change in line with the Paris Agreement. Based on specialized fiduciary and programming expertise, accredited entities partner with GCF and developing countries to carry out activities that include the development of GCF funding proposals and the management and monitoring of projects and programs funded by the GCF. Working closely with core and extended team members of the GCF Accredited Entity unit and other teams across WWF (including staff from finance, legal, safeguards and country offices), the SPA engages and coordinates national governments, donor country agencies, private sector entities and WWF Offices in oversight of their execution of medium-sized ($50m-$250m) GCF projects in Bhutan and others that will come online in Latin America over the next year. These projects are focused on assisting national governments and local partner organizations to address climate change adaptation and mitigation challenges within protected area systems through a Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) approach.
The position is responsible for all budgeting and financial management, financial reporting and compliance with GCF Policies and requirements, accounting, revenue contracts management, contracting, long-range planning and general administration for the WWF GCF Accredited Entity. Responsible for meeting performance measures as outlined in the program operations standards, and for complying with reporting requirements as established by the Vice President of Program Operations.
