World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Art Director
The Art Director is responsible for the creative development and execution of creative projects and campaigns, from concept to completion, in support of the strategic goals of the Communications and Marketing department as well as WWF’s Goal and Influence teams. The position will conceptualize and produce integrated multi-channel solutions for print, web, video, and other media, working independently or with a copywriter or other Creative Solutions (CS) team members. The position will partner with stakeholders and external vendors (designers, illustrators, photographers) as projects require. The Art Director will report to the Sr. Director of the CS team to set project goals and priorities while maintaining high-quality creative standards within WWF’s brand.
Develop impactful solutions for various audience touch points, including:
Digital – Interactive web, social media, online advertising, email marketing
Print - Design, layout, and production for one-page to multi-page documents
Video – Social, digital advertising, and broadcast
Other – Multimedia (text, audio, visual together), installations, staging, and events
Create and manage cross-media/cross-channel, digital, and motion-based creative solutions for WWF’s marketing and communications needs.
Facilitate the successful design, production, and delivery of creative products in agreed upon formats and time frames.
Ensure synergy with internal clients and other divisions of the organization and across all touch points for campaigns.
Responsible for the visual style of a project, including art and photography.
Manage and art direct creative resources and external vendors ie; copy writing, design, print, illustration, video and audio production, motion graphics.
Skillfully manage multiple project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful project outcomes.
Work independently and collaboratively to iteratively create concepts that are progressively refined throughout the creative process.
Proactively create and champion brand standards to ensure consistency of the brand
Identify new technical opportunities for channels with emerging digital technologies.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience in cross-platform (digital and print) creative work required.
Previous experience working in advertising and/or digital agencies preferred.
Demonstrated collaboration across creative teams and project stakeholders.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and complete work with minimal supervision.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet production deadlines.
Highly organized, with experience in client/project management and software.
Strong interpersonal skills, especially relationship management skills and the ability to work productively across teams, cultures, and contexts.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Expert-level skills in Mac OS, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office.
Expert in print preflight software, photo color corrections, and printer proof review.
Understanding of responsive web design, app creation, progressive web apps, and other emerging technologies.
Understanding of video editing and motion graphics.
Knowledge of web optimization, responsive design, email marketing, email design.
