Overview

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Knowledge Management & Internal Communications Officer Jr, Country Office Unit.

 

Location: Candidate MUST be located in any LAC WWF US Country Office (Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala / Belize/Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, or Peru).

 

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Internal Communications & Knowledge Manager of Country Units.

 

Position Length: Full Time, Regular.

 

Major Function

 

The Knowledge Management & Internal Communications Officer Jr supports the Internal Communications & Knowledge Manager, COU on tasks in the areas of knowledge management and internal communications. As part of the Country Office Unit and LAC Secretariat (COU LAC) this position will support the development, implementation and improvement of a variety of knowledge management and internal communication initiatives across 11 country offices. 

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the COU LAC Internal Communications & Knowledge Manager, the Knowledge Management & Internal Communications Officer Jr will have the following responsibilities:

  • Supports the Internal Communications & Knowledge Manager in the creation of event content by writing video scripts, collecting video submissions, finding content, and creating PowerPoint decks.
  • Supports the Internal Communications & Knowledge Manager in editing videos for internal communications.
  • Under the direction of Internal Communications & Knowledge Manager, and with input from others on the COU/LAC team, support the creation and design of content for internal communication channels like internal newsletter, announcements, presentations, and/or social intranet platforms.
  • Use data analytics tools to identify trends, evaluate the effectiveness of internal communication efforts, such as emails, newsletters, intranet, or employee surveys.  
  • Supports the Internal Communications & Knowledge Manager (both technically and logistically) in the conversion of the COU Google site to Sharepoint.
  • Ensure that information on the COU LAC shared web platform (Sharepoint site) is up-to-date and relevant on an ongoing basis.
  • Under the direction of Internal Communications & Knowledge Manager, support the development of training materials for key knowledge management tools.
  • In Coordination with Internal Communications & Knowledge Manager, collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to capture knowledge and convert it into explicit, documented knowledge within COU LAC.
  • In Coordination with Internal Communications & Knowledge Manager and COU LAC’s Conservation Strategy and Impact Director support the maintenance of knowledge repositories, databases, and libraries to store organizational knowledge.
  • Organize, categorize, and tag knowledge assets to ensure easy retrieval.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  5. Time Management and Accountability: Are critical to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and ensure reliable follow-through on responsibilities, driving efficiency and excellence.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience on similar or relevant roles.
  • Ability to work independently and use strategic judgment in decision-making, including managing priorities and meeting competing deadlines.
  • Experience in content creation and design.
  •  Strong data analytics and evaluation experience preferred.
  • Video editing and production experience strongly preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Experience with knowledge management and communication software and systems (e.g. sharepoint, canvas, adobe illustrator, in design, etc) strongly preferred.
  • Adaptable, as the role may involve working on various aspects of internal communication and knowledge management.
  • Bilingual (Fluent in English and Spanish).
