Overview

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Finance Manager

 

Reports to: Sr. Director, Finance

 

Major Function

The Finance Manager directs the institutional budgeting and analysis functions of The World Wildlife Fund. The Finance Manager generates and consolidates the annual operating and fundraising budgets, revises budget projections throughout the year, and analyzes and interprets financial performance regularly. The role proposes, implements, and manages short- and long-term budgeting and analytical strategies.


Salary:  The expected compensation range for this position is $104,400 to $150,100.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Oversees the institutional operating budget and contingency, sets financial standards, and ensures adherence through strategic training and guidance. Directs the annual budget development and submission process, advising non-program managers and collaborating with senior leadership, including Program Operations, to create a consolidated operating budget.
  • Develops ad-hoc budgeting models, reports, and forecasts, and conducts monthly institutional financial analysis. Presents financial performance data and risk analysis to the Executive team for decision-making. Collaborates with Finance leadership to assess the organization’s financial position, considering internal and external economic factors.
  • Collaborates with members of the Fundraising Steering Committee and Finance team to create a multi-year fundraising and expense forecast and assist in capital campaign feasibility studies and analyses.
  • Oversees the collaborations between the Finance and People and Culture teams on the preparation of the annual compensation program and fringe benefits budgets by reviewing the reasonability of budget assumptions and performing regular analysis to monitor the accuracy of the set of parameters. Proposes policy adjustments to senior leadership.
  • Develops and interprets institutional operational performance trend analysis and formulates creative strategies for realizing cost savings, maximizing the use of limited resources, and addressing other financial management and accounting issues relevant to the financial stability of the organization.
  • Directs the consolidation of financial performance data for tri-annual Board and Executive Committee presentations, including proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year and financial forecasts for current year. Coordinates with the Finance team to prepare the financial update narrative and related materials for all Board meetings.
  • Develop policies and procedures for budgeting and financial management and recommend changes in methods or procedures to Finance senior leadership. Conducts an ongoing review of financial management policies and procedures and manages communication with non-program budget managers and senior leadership. Collaborate with the Finance team to develop and deliver strategic non-program financial management training.
  • Supervises Financial Analysts and oversees the Budget Team in ongoing non-program financial management. Establishes short- and long-term goals for the team, monitors progress and provides guidance to ensure successful completion.
  • Collaborates with Financial Operations Lead to identify business process inefficiencies within the Finance department and proposes optimization solutions to senior leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with financial reporting and analysis, and the annual audit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Eight plus years’ experience in accounting, budgeting, financial management, and financial reporting systems is critical. In-depth knowledge of Not-For-Profit Financial Management and Accounting preferred.
  • Ability to work well independently, delegate effectively, and actively participate as a member or leader of various institutional teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of spreadsheets and use of complex formulas and macros. Knowledge of Workday Financials and Workday Adaptive preferred.
  • Excellent people management, writing & verbal communication.
  • Ability to plan, conduct, and manage complex assignments and projects.
  • Excellent financial management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to examine, analyze, and present complex financial information.
