BRIDGE is WWF’s summer internship program. Launched in 2021, it is a paid internship opportunity aimed at a pool of talented undergraduate and graduate students who could bring fresh thinking and innovation to the environmental sector. In particular, WWF aims to employ interns who have not previously had a breadth of professional experience and have not previously considered conservation as a career pathway. 

  

Position Summary 

 

The intern will assist the Talent Acquisition (TA) team in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting recruitment data to provide actionable insights for process improvements, and compliance efforts. This role will support various talent acquisition functions, including candidate sourcing, recruitment metrics, and hiring trends. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex data in a clear and concise manner. The intern will also partner with the Sr. Director of People and Culture (P&C) in the design, implementation and evaluation of special projects. 

Responsibilities

Internship Description: 

 

  • Partner with TA Director to organize a catalogue of interview questions and scoring rubrics into a functional database to streamline and standardize the interview process. 
  • Help develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to TA. 
  • Collaborate with TA team members to understand their data needs and provide insights to improve recruitment processes. 
  • Conduct data quality checks and ensure the accuracy and integrity of recruitment data. 
  • Present findings and recommendations to TA leadership and other stakeholders. 
  • Partner with TA Director in using data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Partner with Sr. Director P&C on executing WWF’s sabbatical program, RENEW: call for nominations, selection, decision making and implementation of the Fiscal Year 26 cohort. 
  • Partner with Sr. Director P&C on executing the Performance Appraisals Improvements project: communications, implementation, assessment and reporting. 
  • Other duties and projects assigned by managers. 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:  

  

  • Pursuing a graduate program in Data Science, Statistics, Human Resources, or related field. Those studying outside these areas are still highly encouraged to apply. Must be an actively enrolled student and not received degree at time of internship start date (June 16, 2025). 
  • Attention to Detail – Whether helping to create presentations, drafting reports, or analyzing data, strong attention to detail is needed. 
  • Initiative – We seek interns who will ask questions and identify opportunities to make valuable, unexpected contributions. 
  • Organization skills – This fast-paced program requires a high level of organization and follow-through to manage competing priorities. 
  • Adaptability – The evolving nature of our work requires a tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to occasionally change direction on tasks with little notice. 
  • Teamwork – Helping each other succeed, collaborating across teams, and volunteering to help wherever needed is how we achieve extraordinary results. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. 
  • Proven understanding of data analysis tools and software, including solid research skills. 
  • Interest in conservation and environmental sector, especially as a career development pathways. 
  • Interest and basic knowledge in workplace learning and development.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  

  • Subject expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred, but not required: 
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and predictive modeling preferred. 
  • Interest in data analysis, process improvement, or human resources is desired. 

 

Learning Outcomes 

  

  • Gain direct experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation within TA. 
  • Develop proficiency in conducting needs analysis and creating and analyzing reports to support data-driven decision-making. 
  • Build skills in auditing, cataloging, and maintaining accurate documentation to support organizational efficiency. 
  • Understand the KPIs and metrics used in TA. 
  • Learn to identify trends and patterns in recruitment data to support strategic decision-making. 
  • Enhance communication and presentation skills by conveying complex data insights to stakeholders. 

 

WWF interns will be offered a set of professional development opportunities, aimed at increasing their exposure to conservation and sustainability careers. This includes: 

  

  • Development discussions with their manager; 
  • Up to two online courses through Cornell University’s eCornell program; 
  • Speed mentoring with different WWF teams; 
  • Opportunity to present their work to intern peers and WWF staff; 
  • Session on resume and interviewing best practices. 

  

Interns will also have access to an array of networking opportunities. This includes meetings with WWF’s staff and leadership team. 

  

Location: 

US-DC-Washington   

 

**This is a hybrid position that requires the intern to be in the WWF Washington, DC Headquarters Office a minimum of 2 days per week.** 

 

Compensation: 

Paid - $22.50 per hour (full-time, 35 hours per week) 

  

Internship Dates: 

Internship will run from June 16, 2025 to August 22, 2025
