Overview

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a GHG Emissions Data Collection Intern.

 

Major Function

WWF-US is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a GHG Emissions Data Collection Intern, supporting the annual data gathering process for WWF’s FY25 greenhouse gas inventory. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with both internal staff and external partners to collect, organize, and validate a wide array of operational data from WWF-US HQ, WWF-US’s four domestic offices, and its 14 international country office units. Your work will directly contribute to the accuracy and completeness of our emissions reporting, enabling effective climate action across the organization. Responsibilities

  • Take lead on data collection efforts for all Scope 1, 2, & 3 emissions from WWF-US’s domestic and international offices
  • Track, validate, and organize data received to identify gaps and opportunities to improve data collection process
  • Follow-up with stakeholders, including meeting with teams or offices, to ensure all data collection is complete and correct within timeframe of data collection efforts
  • Review and analyze data received to determine if there is opportunity for more granular data to be extracted to make WWF’s emissions data more accurate
  • Participate in WWF’s green team, an internal team dedicated to tracking, reporting, and reducing WWF’s internal greenhouse gas emissions
  • Collaborate with third-party consultant leading WWF’s annual footprint exercise

Qualifications

  • Pursuing or completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in sustainability, environmental science, business, or related field
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment with global reach
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and drive results
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable
  • Passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change

US Remote – WWF employs interns in all states with the exception of: Hawaii, Idaho, Kentucky, Nevada, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Wyoming.

 

Compensation:

$21-$23 per hour, 35 hours per week
